We’re putting together an exciting show in collaboration with CymaSpace, whose mission is to make the performing arts more accessible and inclusive to Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. Join us in singing and signing along with your favorite rock and pop songs (as well as a few gems from musical theater). The concert will showcase PHAME’s Rock Ensemble, Choir, and iPad Ensemble, as well as our special guests, and ALL of the songs will be performed by Deaf artists in sign language too! Come watch the flow of hands and learn how music is adapted for everyone!

Doors to the building open at 6:00 pm; theater opens at 6:30 pm. Concert will begin at 7 pm.

Accessibility

For guests who use wheelchairs, use the entrance to the theater on NE Mallory, just around the corner from the main entrance. Inside the door is a ramp to access the theater. The ramp is fairly steep, so we will have volunteers on site to assist people who use wheelchairs in getting up the ramp. There is a wheelchair-accessible restroom on site.

Seating for the concert is general admission, meaning that it is first come, first served. However, if you require accessible seating (including wheelchair or otherwise), we recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance and specify your request for reserved seating in the “accessibility” field. A limited number of accessible seats will be reserved for guests who purchase their tickets at the door.

Sign language will be woven into the concert, and we will have multiple ASL interpreters at the concert.  We foresee it being easy to see the signers and ASL interpreters from anywhere in the theater. However, if you experience limited vision, need tactile access to the songs or need to be close to the interpreters for any other reason, we recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance and specify your request for reserved seating in the “accessibility” field two weeks in advance to accommodate your needs.

Guests who need to vocalize or move around at any point are always welcome. For guests who like to know detailed information about the event before attending, download our event guide.

If you require audio description, audio assist, or a braille program, please let us know no later than Wednesday, December 4. You may enter your request in the ‘accessibility’ field when you purchase tickets, or email us at rmorris@phamepdx.org.

If you have questions about accessibility or if you have a specific accessibility request, please email rmorris@phamepdx.org. We value accessibility for all and will do our best to accommodate you.
