Registration Form

If you’d like to add, drop or change a class, please contact Alex Geffel at at (503) 764-9718 ext. 18 or ageffel@phamepdx.org. Any changes to classes will incur a $10 per class late registration fee.


Step-By-Step Registration Instructions

  1. Choose your classes: Read the course descriptions in the course catalog, and decide which classes you’d like to take. We recommend choosing a few back-up classes in case you don’t get into your top choices.

  2. Check the requirements: Some classes require instructor permission or previous experience. Make sure you meet the requirements for each of the classes you wish to take.

  3. Check for scheduling conflicts: Make sure that your classes don’t conflict with each other, and that all of your classes fit with your personal schedule. If you’re taking both online and in-person classes, you should make sure you can be home in time for your online classes. Students may not take their online classes from the PHAME campus.

  4. Read our registration policies.

  5. Fill out our digital registration form for the best chance at getting the classes you want, fill out the form by the priority deadline: Tuesday, March 5, by 9 AM (after this deadline you can still fill out the form, but many classes will have already filled). Note that filling out the form does not guarantee that you will be placed in the class.
    Students who cannot access the digital registration form can call Alex for assistance at (503) 764-9718 ext. 18.

  6. Check your email: After Tuesday, March 5, 9 AM passes, we process all of the registration forms we have received. We do this in a random order, so it doesn’t matter if you sent your form in early, or five minutes before the deadline. Once we process your form, you will receive an order confirmation email listing the classes we have placed you in. If you were waitlisted, we will send you a second email to explain.

  7. Find out how much you owe:

    • If you pay full price for PHAME classes, your order confirmation email will show the amount you owe.

    • If you get Tuition Assistance, your order confirmation email will show the amount before Tuition Assistance is applied. We will send you another email, showing the right price, after we process your Tuition Assistance request.

  8. Pay for your classes: Our preferred payment option is to pay by check, but you can also pay with a credit or debit card. Click here for more information about how to pay.

  9. Get ready for the term: The week before classes begin, we’ll send you a reminder email listing what classes you’re registered for. If you’re taking online classes, you’ll also receive an email containing your Zoom link no later than the Sunday before the term begins. We’ll also send you monthly emails about what’s happening at PHAME—you’ll receive the first email the Sunday before the term begins.

  10. Join your class: For online classes, click on the Zoom link provided in the email from PHAME staff to join the class (or enter the meeting ID into your Zoom app). For in-person classes/workshops, be sure to go to the correct address listed for your class.workshop (we offer in-person classes in NE Portland and workshops in Beaverton).

  11. If you need to make changes to your registration after you receive your registration confirmation email, you may do so by calling Alex at (503) 764-9718 ext. 18. Fees may apply.

A note about Tuition Assistance: Students who need Tuition Assistance must apply once per school year, beginning again every fall. That means that all students needing Tuition Assistance in the fall must fill out a new request form. Spring Term Registration Deadlines

Tuesday, March 5:
• Priority Deadline for registration forms (by 9 AM)

Monday, March 25:
• Last day to register or add a class without a fee
• Last day to drop a class and only pay the $10 registration fee
• Tuition Assistance Forms due (students must apply once a year, beginning again each fall)

Sunday, March 31:
• All students taking online classes receive their Zoom links no later than this date

Monday, April 1:
• Spring Term begins

Friday, April 12:
• Last day to drop a class and only pay 25% (or $10, whichever is higher). After this date there are no refunds and students must pay 100% of tuition owed.

Monday, May 27:
• PHAME closed in observance of Memorial Day (no classes)

Thursday, June 6:
• Spring Term ends

Paying for Classes

Paying by check is PHAME’s preferred payment method (make your check out to PHAME). PHAME also accepts credit cards, debit cards, money orders, and cash.

Payment can be mailed to our mailing address: 1631 NE Broadway #134, Portland, OR 97232. To pay with a card by phone, please call Alex at (503) 764-9718 ext. 18. Cash payments must be made in person at the PHAME office (1511 NE 17th Ave, Portland, OR 97232), however please call Alex to schedule an appointment.

Payment plans of up to three payments are available. One third of payment is due by the first day of classes, and full payment must be received by the end of the term. We send invoices for unpaid registrations via email a week or two after registration starts, and again each month, so if you need an official invoice, you can wait until you receive that invoice to pay.


Registration & Withdrawal Policies

Classes:

Tuition for each class includes a $10 non-refundable registration fee. The last day to drop a class without paying an additional fee is the Monday before the first week of the term. For classes dropped during the first or second week of the term, or in the week before the term begins, students will be responsible for paying 25% of tuition owed or $10, whichever is greater. For classes dropped after the second week of the term, there are no refunds and students will be responsible for 100% of tuition owed.

The last day to register or add a class without incurring a late fee is the Monday before the first week of the term (if Monday is a PHAME holiday, the deadline moves to Tuesday at noon). After that date, registration must be done by calling Alex at (503) 764-9718 ext. 18 and will incur a $10 per class late registration fee.

Please note:

PHAME reserves the right to cancel classes prior to the start of term for any reason. Any tuition already paid will be refunded in full. In the event that PHAME moves in-person classes online after the term begins due to a surge in cases of Covid in our area or confirmed cases of Covid in our student population, students who do not wish to move online will have the option of a prorated refund or tuition credit, minus a $10 registration fee.

By filling out the registration form, you give PHAME permission to register you for the classes you have indicated on your form and you acknowledge that this is a binding agreement subject to PHAME policies.
