Join PHAME for Our Second Annual Disability Pride Celebration!

NEW TIME: 11 AM - 2 PM

This festive afternoon event will include music by DJ Lamar, a performance by PHAME’s Rock Ensemble, activities and presentations that celebrate the Americans with Disabilities Act, art projects, and snacks! This is an outdoor event and we will have large outdoor tents for gathering. Our Disability Pride Celebration is presented by PHAME’s student-led Culture Diversity Awareness Committee (CDAC). Join us for a fun and friend-filled afternoon celebrating disability pride!

11 AM: Event begins; ongoing art activities begin
Noon: Rock Ensemble performance
1 PM: CDAC panel discussion
2 PM: Farewells!

This is a drop-in event; feel free to stop by for just part of the event, or stay for the whole thing!

Disability Pride is free and open to all friends of PHAME; all ages welcome. Because this is an outdoor event, we will not be requiring proof of Covid vaccination or masks.

WEATHER NOTE: The forecast is looking HOT! We'll have big tents for shade, seating, and cool refreshments. We know everyone experiences hot weather differently, and ask that you please plan your visit with the weather in mind.

Getting Here

Grace Church is serviced by a number of bus lines, including the #8, #17, #70 and #77. The Lloyd Center Max line stops a few blocks away. Check Trimet bus and Max schedules for more information on service lines and schedules.

TriMet Lift riders should use the Grace Church address when scheduling their rides. If planning to attend the whole event, arrival window should be 11:30 AM-noon and departure window should be 3-3:30 PM.

Limited parking will be available in part of the Grace Church parking lot. Street parking is also available in the surrounding neighborhood.

Accessibility

This event takes place in the parking lot, which is a flat, paved surface.

We will have a wheelchair-accessible portable restroom (porta-potty).

This event will include moderate to loud music and other sounds.

We want you to come and enjoy the event! Patrons who need to vocalize or move around are welcome, and patrons are welcome to leave and return to the event as necessary.

If you need ASL interpretation to enjoy this event, please let us know by July 5 and we will reserve an interpreter for the event. Email us at info@phamepdx.org.
